To
All Court Patrons - New ID Scanner
The Court Hotel is
committed to keeping our venue safe for everyone. Therefore, in conjunction
with numerous other Northbridge/Perth venues, we have decided to install
an ID scanning system at our door.
This means that no matter what age you are, you must present a drivers’
licence, proof of age card or passport at our door to gain entry. The
system will also take a photograph of you upon entry.
This is not a decision we have made lightly. We have researched numerous
systems and have found one that meets all the principles of the National
Privacy Policy. Your details are not only password protected but also
encrypted and can only be accessed by senior management. Your identity
will only be disclosed to a security or a police personnel if you are
involved in any incident in or outside our establishment either directly
or indirectly. We do not sell or give to other persons or organisations
lists containing your personal information. We will not disclose any personal
information we hold about you unless required by law.
The benefits of this system in reducing incidents of violence are well
documented. Venues around the country are using this same system and there
have been numerous reports of massive reductions in levels of assaults
and other incidents at the premises in which it is installed. The system
also allows us to share information between venues so we know if someone
has been removed for violent behaviour in another venue and we can disallow
that person access to our venue if we choose. The system also acts as
a deterrent to unacceptable behaviour in the venue and allows us to keep
track of patrons that we have previously disallowed entry or removed for
unacceptable behaviour.
We hope you support our efforts to make The Court one of the safest places
to spend your time. As with any new system in the venue there may be some
teething problems so we appreciate your patience. Can you all please make
sure you bring ID to the venue from now on. Let’s work together
in making The Court a happy and safe place for everyone.
Yours sincerely
The Court Management
Don’t
forget – you must now have photo ID to gain entry to our premises.
